Ancient sweet typical of the Biellese, made according to recipes from generation to generation, which has filling a waffle with a fragrant filling of chocolate and hazelnuts from Piedmont..
The first written documents mentions the Canestrelli dating back in 1805 and talks about these biscuits produced in many different variations since the recipe slightly varied from family to family.
The wafer was baked in the fireplace for a short time in a double plate, which gave in the classic design.
Even now, as then, these are handmade with genuine raw materials of excellent quality.
